Why Great Marketing Materials Still Matter for Artists and Small Businesses

by Tania Chanter

In a world where so much of our marketing happens online, it can be easy to forget the value of something people can actually hold in their hands.

As an artist, I spend a lot of time thinking about how my work is presented. A painting might begin with an idea in the studio, but the way it is photographed, displayed, packaged and promoted all plays a part in how people connect with it.

That is why I believe good marketing materials are still incredibly important.

Your brand doesn’t stop at your website

Your website and social media presence might be where people discover you, but physical marketing materials can help keep your brand in their minds.

Business cards, postcards, packaging, labels, signage and stickers can all provide another opportunity to make an impression.

For artists, in particular, stickers are surprisingly useful. They can be placed on packaging, art boxes, envelopes, promotional materials or even included as a small extra with a purchase.

A well-designed sticker can become a little piece of your brand that travels with your customer.

Small details can make a big difference

When someone purchases an original artwork, the experience doesn’t end when they hand over their payment.

The way the artwork is wrapped, presented and delivered can influence how professional and memorable the entire experience feels.

Adding a branded sticker to packaging is a simple detail, but it can help bring everything together. Consistent colours, typography and imagery reinforce your visual identity and make your business look considered and professional.

And because stickers are relatively inexpensive compared with many other forms of marketing, they can be a great option for small businesses and creatives working with limited marketing budgets.

Why I chose Oz Sticker Printing

Recently, I had the opportunity to try sticker printing from Oz Sticker Printing, who provided us with complimentary promotional stickers in exchange for this blog post.

I was impressed by how straightforward the process was. Being able to take your own artwork or branding and turn it into a professionally printed sticker is a useful option for artists and businesses that want to extend their branding beyond the screen.

The stickers have plenty of potential for my own artwork and promotional materials, particularly when preparing for exhibitions, art fairs and other events where physical presentation really matters.

If you’re an artist, maker, small business owner or creative professional, I’d recommend taking a look at OzStickerPrinting if you’re considering creating branded stickers for your business.

Don’t underestimate the power of something tangible

Digital marketing is incredibly important, but I don’t think physical marketing materials have become irrelevant. If anything, something tangible can stand out more in a world where we’re constantly scrolling through digital content.

A beautifully designed postcard, a carefully packaged product or a simple branded sticker can create a small but memorable connection with someone.

And sometimes, those small details are what people remember.
