The Gorge
The Gorge
The Gorge is an original abstract impressionist landscape. The Gorge, that deep cleft between escarpments or cliffs, which have resulted from years of weathering and erosion, possibly carved out by a river. Wind and water combine to erode and cut away less resistant materials. Who knows how the passage of time has shaped this mass of rock, and yet there it remains, resilient and relatively permanent. We are not unlike The Gorge, our lives shaped by our experiences, viewing any difficulty as a challenge, not as a paralysing event, viewing our failures and mistakes as lessons to be learned from, and as opportunities for growth. The poetic words "I touched the drab chasm walls Whose edges I hoped to heal
With sweet words and good intentions" resonate well with me.
I love the depth and richness of the colours, the complexity of the sky, the churning foam of the ocean on stormy days and the sunlight playing through tall grasses as they bend and wave. This piece captures the ever changing hues found throughout the Australian landscape. Layered acrylics and ink on a texture base. This painting is double glazed and is finished with blackened edges and is ready to hang. The Artwork is stamped on the front, and signed and dated on the back, and will be securely packaged for your peace of mind.
